In 2004 and 2005, Congressman Barrett was the only member of the South Carolina Delegation to receive 100% ratings for both years. Congressman Barrett has a 99% lifetime rating. Congressman Gresham Barrett has won the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s “Spirit of Enterprise” Award each year he has served in the Congress. “Gresham Barrett is a leader who time and again has supported legislation to create jobs, increase productivity, and strengthen our nation’s recovering economy.” Americans for Tax Reform have named Congressman Gresham Barrett a “Hero of the Taxpayer” in each of his first three years of service in the Congress. This award is given to Members of Congress in recognition of leadership on behalf of taxpayers. National Taxpayers Union has presented Congressman Gresham Barrett with the “Taxpayer’s Friend Award” in each of his first three years of service. This award is given in recognition of the Congressman’s exceptional work on behalf of limited government and vitally needed fiscal restraint. Congressman Barrett was inducted into the U.S. Border Control Congressional Hall of Fame for the 108th Congress because of his efforts on behalf of border and immigration reform. In 2005, Human Events, a leading conservative news publication, rated Congressman Gresham Barrett as one of the top 10 Up-and-Coming House Conservatives.
